Tags
Tags are used to classify Assets. Tags can be applied to Assets individually or they can be grouped into a Tag Set, which is a collection of related Tags. For example, you could create and apply an individual Tag like Remediate_Today or create a Priority Tag Set with multiple Tags:
Priority:
Immediate
High
Medium
Low
Tags can be applied to Assets manually or automatically. If you want Tripwire.io to assign a Tag to assets automatically, create Tagging Criteria for the Tag. If an Asset matches these criteria, Tripwire.io applies the Tag to that Asset.
For example, you could apply a Location Tag based on an Asset’s IP address, or apply a Priority Tag based on an Asset’s most recent scan results.

- Navigate to Environment > Tags.
- Click NEW and select New Tag.
- Enter a Name and Description. To add this Tag to an existing Tag Set, select one from the list.
- Specify whether the Tag will be applied automatically or manually.
- For automatic Tags, select Tagging Criteria.
Tagging Criteria are used to automatically apply Tags to Assets that match the specified criteria. As new Asset or scan information is received, that data is constantly evaluated against the Tagging Criteria to determine which Tags to assign to each Asset.
- Click SAVE.

- Navigate to Environment > Tags.
- Select a Tag or Tag Set and click Edit to edit it.
Note:
You cannot edit Tags that are imported from a Data Source.
